 | How much does it cost to adopt a pet?Cat or kitten is $40 plus veterinary fees if unaltered and $65 if altered.
Dog or puppy is $55 plus veterinary fees if unaltered and $85 if altered.
Small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils etc range from $5 to $15

 | Do you take any animals?We take in any companion animal in need of a home. We are unable to house reptiles or wildlife but we can refer you to the appropriate agency to handle those animals.

 | What do I do if my pet is lost?Contact us so we can make sure your pet is in our "lost and found" information. That way if your pet arrives at the CCSPCA we will contact you immediately.
If your dog is lost you should contact your local Dog Control Officer as well.

 | Why arenīt you open to the public in the morning?Our dedicated staff arrives early in the morning to clean and feed our animals. It takes several hours to adequately provide the quality care they need and deserve.

 | What is an open admission animal shelter?The Chenango County SPCA welcomes companion animals in need. We do not turn animals away from our doors. This belief makes us what is considered an "open door" or "open admission" animal shelter.

 | What is a "no-kill" animal shelter?We feel a more appropriate name for organizations such as this are "limited admission". They restrict the number of animals they take in. They may turn away those that arenīt healthy or behaviorally sound.
The Chenango County SPCA is committed to providing our community with an open door policy and will not limit our admissions of animals.
